If You're Looking For More Information On Social Media In Asia…

Michael Netzley from Singapore Management University gave a class this semester on Social Media that consisted of some case studies, the reading of Naked Conversation by Twist Image friend, Shel Israel, and listening to Six Pixels Of Separation – The Twist Image Podcast.
The class also managed to slap together this amazing wiki called: Social Media And PR Across Asia where they are collaborating on adding their learnings from the course and pushing the conversation forward. I encourage you to check it out – there are some great sparks there.
The wiki consists of the case studies that the class conducted on the cultural differences throughout Asia and their approach to social media. One of the amazing people involved (and someone I spent a lot of time hanging out with at PodCamp Singapore) was Akanksha Goel. Akanksha also created a link on the wiki for PodCamp Singapore. My guess is some of the content – text, images, audio and video – will make its way on to this wiki.
It’s sad to see PodCamp Singapore end. We had a great morning sharing the tools of the trade and I’m really going to miss these people. My guess is, when we look back in the coming years, that PodCamp Singapore will have been a defining moment for social media in these parts. I’m hopeful that they’ll take what they learned and start collaborating more and engaging each other in meet-ups, unconferences and on each other’s individual digital platforms.
I recorded a forty-minute session during our Geek Dinner Singapore last night and my plan is to release it as the next episode of Six Pixels Of Separation – The Twist Image Podcast (hopefully) tomorrow.
In the meantime, please check out the students of SMU and their wiki here: Social Media And PR Across Asia.
