Montreal Business Book Club – And Now A Few Words From Me By Bob Garfield

Posted by

Look at me – all getting ahead of myself and setting things up way in advance (it must be my Dan Sullivan Goal Cultivator Community buzz). The September session of the Montreal Business Book Club is taking place on Tuesday, September 27th at 6:30 pm and we will be discussing And Now A Few Words From Me by Bob Garfield (thanks for the suggestion Harold).
Here’s a blurb about And Now A Few Words From Me:
“Bob Garfield, Author of Advertising Age’s widely read column ‘Ad Review,’ is the world’s most influential advertising critic. And he is ticked off, wielding his pen like a flaming broadsword, striking out at rudeness, self-indulgence, irrelevance, irresponsibility, and outright sleaze.
Amid his take-no-prisoners citation of ad failures, though, Garfield also lays out rules for good advertising – commonsense rules too often forgotten between the initial brainstorm and the final ‘advertrocity.’ And Now A Few Words From Me is a primer, a volume of case studies, an earnest reflection, and a hilarious exercise in journalistic hell-raising. Advertising may or may not get better as a result of Garfield’s book, but it will never be the same.”
Ohhh, this sounds like a good one.
Also, if you missed my Blog posting, Montreal Business Book Club – Never Eat Alone By Keith Ferrazzi, we will be discussing Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferrazzi on Tuesday, August 23rd at 6:30 pm.
As always, all Montreal Business Book Club discussions take place at Twist Image.
