  1. nice concise overview. however, it leaves out one VERY important detail. the importance of Tim Berners-Lee’s creation of Hyper Text Transport Protocol HTTP, for sharing files with links across a network. he gave this away for FREE. and without it, the internet would not have exploded into the popular communication network it has become.

  2. That was the nicest outro scene to any video I think that I’ve seen so far.
Short video clips like that are so awesome because of just all that can be communicated in a short time (if any effort is made to keep it short) and by using creative graphics like that.
This really brings to mind a video on Trusted computing that came out a few years ago.

  3. Rupert – Berners-Lee’s invention was actually the World Wide Web – not the Internet itself. True, his achievement has been marked as one of the most important of the 20th century, however would not have been possible if not for the work of his predecessors in inventing the Internet in the first place.
Perhaps we’ll see another documentary by these guys on the WWW before too long. Let’s hope!

  4. Very interesting video. To often we take technology for granted but when we know more about how it is all put together we appreciate it more.
