SPOS #128 – The Social Media Lifecycle

Posted by

Welcome to episode #128 of Six Pixels Of Separation – The Twist Image Podcast. A crazy week of travel to both Amsterdam and Geneva led to a couple of thoughts, comments and ideas. Couple that with some great audio comments and some very interesting closing music, and this is one very full episode with a heavy slant on Social Media – the present and the future. Enjoy the conversation…

  1. Hey Mitch, I’m going to ping my comments over the Atlantic in text, rather than audio – I know you’re alright with that.
So, you asked what we thought about the podcast and what we’re looking for.
My view as a regular, but (fairly) new listener (30 weeks) is that I enjoy your show in it’s various guides – from pure conversation (like the previous few weeks) to the soapbox-style spilling of the brains. It’s all great stuff that I really value (I look forward to getting that download into iTunes and updating the iPod!)
But I think my favourite episodes (and where I am learning the most) are when the the community speaks. The power of the audio comments, and your interaction (then the subsequent interaction of the community) is where the magic happens.
That’s where the wisdom of the crowd has tremendous value – there are people asking smart questions and other (smart) people answering them!
So, maybe a solution is to have a rolling program of episode styles for a few months – have two episodes driven by the community, one with a conversation, then one where you share your thoughts.
Okay, maybe that’s too much like organisation and goes against your style, but it’s a thought.
That’s my view – keep the content coming and who know, one of these days I might save up the pennies to phone in an audio comment from Scotland!
    Peace
    W
