Welcome to episode #225 of Six Pixels Of Separation – The Twist Image Podcast. Every once in a while, you get an opportunity to have a conversation with someone who has, literally, changed the game. This Podcast has had more than a few of those, and here’s another big one. Without question, Don Tapscott has seen (and been talking about) the changes that are happening right now. He was writing about technology being a business and global game-changer for over thirty years. His latest book, Macrowikinomics (which he co-wrote with Anthony D. Williams), is already a best-seller (and for good reason). HIs last two books, Grown Up Digital and Wikinomics, are also must-have’s. In this episode, we look at everything from the modern printing press to the future of business and education. He even lets us know what he thinks about Google and Apple today. Enjoy the conversation…

It would be a nice touch to have some imagery during your internet podcast. I can not stare at a blank screen for such a long time.
It’s an audio Podcast… try going for a walk while listening to it… the imagery will be much nicer.
haha Thanks Mitch, it feels good to be right 😉 However I agree that even in those communities a few strong ties can push the evolution and give it direction.
Thank Don… not me 😉
Interesting interviewing and I read Wikinomics many years ago. What do you think he is getting at in terms of this could get alot uglier with storm warnings ahead? A significant challenge of the existing capitalist system as we started to already see or a mass consumer revolt against certain large companies for their practices? Such as the Chinese Foxconn where they have ethical practice issues?
Definitely an interesting topic of debate as to where we are going and what are going to be some of the global challenges going forward.
Tapscott has a brand new book out, Macrowikinomics, that you should check out – especially if you liked, Wikinomics.
I think he was talking more about businesses sticking their heads in the sand and not believing in the many changes that social media and social technology has caused. If they sit back and think that this change is not real, they’re going to experience a lot of pain. I think he is spot on.
Just wanted to say thanks for the podcast interview with Don Tapscott. After listening, I felt like I had received some prophetic counsel. I could listen to this guy for hours. Great stuff!
I could have kept going, but I knew Don only had thirty minutes for me, so I had to respect his time. I’ll try to get him for longer next time.
Loved the podcast! I’ve been having similar conversations lately.
