David says that the value of a (knowledge) network is in it’s disagreements.
Very insightful and also profoundly unfortunate in the context of social. Social media (Twitter, blogosphere, etc.) abhors and punishes disagreement. Social is driven by likes (conformity, validation, and encouragement).
The rejection of hypertext in comments by bloggers also speaks to the resistance to allowing a text to expand beyond the humble opinion and petty fiefdom of the blog.
