Welcome to episode #47 of Six Pixels Of Separation – The Twist Image Podcast. There are some killer word of mouth marketing insights here. This includes a very special What Is Your Blog And/Or Podcast? and a twelve minute tea-induced chat with Rob Cottingham from Social Signal. C.C. Chapman even makes me blush. Enjoy this conversation…

  1. Great show as always dude. I have nominated you in the non-existing “BEST NEW MEDIA MARKETING PODCAST INTERVIEWER AWARD”.
Seriously though, it’s refreshing to hear the interviewee get to speak, and for the host to not blow his/her own horn so much.
Don’t get me wrong fellow New Media Marketing podcasters, but please take the note. We are already subscribed to your shows because we enjoy and get a lot out of what you have to say. All the more reason to let your guest do the talking instead.
    Peace.
    Dave

  2. Thanks Dave… I am blushing 🙂
Prior to Twist Image I spent a good chunk of my time as a journalist, where I did up to fourteen interviews a week. It’s an art form, so don’t be too hard on my fellow Digerati – I find most of them pretty awesome at the conversation engagement.
Where do I pick up my award?
    😉

  3. Sharp listening by Dave, and it’s why that was probably the hardest I’ve ever had to work in an interview — good, hard, fun work, I should add. Mitch was asking some pretty big questions about important topics, and letting me answer expansively. (The lengthy pauses in some of my answers? That’s me thinking my ass off.) A lot of that is probably experience, as Mitch says, but I got the strong impression that another big chunk is just that he genuinely wants to hear the answers… and that makes a world of difference.

  4. Rob – I think we can dig much deeper on social networks, community and activism online. I really think that this is still quite nascent and people are just starting to understand how much real power they can wield in this era of “hands” instead of “eyeballs.”
Let’s plan to catch up on 6POS again soon.
