A True Honor

I don’t do community work for awards or recognition. I do it for one reason: there are two types of people in this world – those who can give and those who must receive. I’m just thankful to be a part of the first group (you can “blech” all you want – it may sound corny and simple but it’s true).
Tonight I had the distinguished honor of being awarded the Jon Roskies Memorial Award for New Leadership. It was presented by Federation CJA at their 2004 Annual General Meeting. The award is given once a year for outstanding leadership, commitment and involvement in community life.
My family is mad because I did not invite them. Now the world knows – so there.
