I’ve been Blogging about my Sony Vaio ultra-portable laptop for a long time. I’m also extremely tempted to grab a new Apple MacBook Air. As I contemplate my purchase, I thought I would demo what my Sony Vaio can do, while at the same time making it a parody of the Apple Macbook Air commercial (which I love). This is my first attempt at (really) raw YouTube video fun.
I recorded it using my Flip video camera. And, to be honest, it’s not just mine – this was a total 50/50 partnership with David Usher (who pretty much shot, directed and edited). We had a lot of fun making it (for the five minutes we spent doing it). You can see it here: YouTube – Apple Macbook Air Sony Vaio Parody.
And right here:
Update: If you like this video, feel free to “Digg” it here (thanks Chris Brogan): Digg – Macbook Air Parody Video Using A Sony Vaio.
Not bad. I like the way you displayed the dvd player.
Macbook Air parody
My friend Mitch Joel and his buddy David Usher have put together a parody of the now-famous Macbook Air ad from Apple, showing off the assets of the Sony Vaio ultra-portoable notebook. object width=425 height=355param name=movie value=http://www.youtub…
Not sure if you’ll like it, but another Mac parody, showcasing the PS3 vs. Wii
Mitch (and David) I love it! I think I think Bargainista’s next weekly wish will be for a Flip. Please tell me this was only the first of many videos to come.
I’m seeing a lot of takes on this: Sony Vaio, normal MacBooks, etc… And the only message I’m walking away with is that Apple is a hip, hip brand…
Really clever stuff, Mitch! I think you’re both to be applauded. Great effort.
Ha! Great. Unfortunately, it still has to run Windows. (Or that other OS that nobody makes consumer programs for… what was it called again?) 😉
Watch out Mitch. Don’t rile up us Mac users. We’ll come fast and furious. Hah!
Hope all is well.
Tim
ps – have fun with Vista!
I just bought the Sony Vaio two days ago. I love it.
that was fun. mac users need to be able to laugh at themselves as well with this one
BTW, I’m a mac owner and have been for 18 years. I still laughed.
I would be really interested in hearing your thoughts on the flip video camera.
Thanks.

Close to a Clio award (little irony), but extremely effective (no irony). I was thinking of going back to the Mac side. Now, I’m not so sure… and there are the numerous benefits of having Vista.
Mitch Joel wants a Cease and Desist letter from Apple
Man in black and my friend Mitch Joel and his buddy David Usher have put together a parody of the now-famous Macbook Air ad from Apple, showing off the assets of the Sony Vaio ultra-portoable notebook
…
Great job! I enjoyed this parody. It is so close to the original, and really shows the advantages of you Vaio.
Cheers,
Connie
It worked! Now I want a Vaio.

Mitch Joel created a Macbook Air parody, showing off his Sony Vaio. There are probably lots…
Hysterical! Christ Mitch, you should be doing videos for your clients. Or at least for Gene Simmons. I salute your beret and jodphurs!
Hilarious! Everyone realizes that the “small” or compact laptops have been around forever… so funny..
I think what could make this viral, is the mass amount of agreement people would have with the idea… Very good..
very good work… i guess both of you should be appreciated
SPOS, keep it up!
Very nice! Made me chuckle…
I am a Mac fan and love a good parody!
I’m thinking of doing a parody video on viral parody videos…
Sorta like what CP did awhile back, “an unsolicited response” – http://www.coudal.com/unsolicited.php
after this i actually bought a viao
