With all of the big name brands now entering Second Life, sometimes the cool, interesting tidbits just slide on by. Podcasting-friendly band, Uncle Seth (who also happen to be Canadian), are currently planning to simulcast an upcoming live concert in Second Life according to the article from the Media In Canada website, Canadian Band To ‘Simulcast’ Toronto Gig In Second Life.
It goes on to say:
“Marrying a virtual concert to a real one is a natural move for a band that’s been dubbed ‘the official band of Canadian podcasting’ by veteran podcasters Tod Maffin, Mark Blevis and Bob Goyetche. The Second Life portion of the Uncle Seth concert will take place at a venue run by music podcasting pioneer and new marketing specialist C.C. Chapman.”
The point is that some band had to do it, so it might as well be Uncle Seth. I had a chance to get to know the band when we both converged on Boston for PodCamp Boston a few months back. Uncle Seth is passionate about word-of-mouth marketing and bass player, Jay Moonah, recently started the Online Music Marketing Podcast.
