Every Monday morning at 7:10 am, I am a guest contributor on CHOM 97.7 FM radio broadcasting out of Montreal (home base). It’s not a long segment – about 5 to 10 minutes every week – about everything that is happening in the world of technology and digital media. If you own a business, one of the biggest complaints we still hear is that employees are wasting too much time on YouTube and Facebook. Some companies still block Facebook or don’t allow it at work. So, Facebook has an idea! They’re going to launch Facebook At Work! So, we used to not want our managers to see what we’re posting on Facebook. Now, it looks like Facebook feels like they can compete with LinkedIn. Will businesses want this? What about IT people? A lot of IT departments might not want this type of business content in the hands of Facebook due to security issues and legal compliance.
