Get your sleep this weekend – next week is a busy one for Digital Marketers.
Early Thursday morning I’ll be hopping a flight to Toronto for the CMA – Canadian Marketing Association – and their annual Digital Marketing Conference, which takes place on October 25th – October 26th, 2007 at The Guvernment – Kool Haus. I’m really looking forward to seeing Chuck Porter (Chairman, Crispin Porter + Bogusky), Mike Murphy (Vice-President, Media Sales, Facebook) and Simon Assaad (Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Heavy.com) keynote speeches. It looks like two full days of fun. I’m especially excited about the fact that I am not presenting. I can just attend, Blog, Podcast and schmooze.
I’m also looking forward to The Experience Exchange. I had the pleasure of hosting a table on Podcasting last year, and it was a great component to the conference. People flocked to tables that were of interest to them and shared their insights and experiences.
I was speaking to Michael Seaton of Scotiabank and The Client Side Blog, and we’ve decided to have dinner on Thursday night. While this is not an "official" Geek Dinner Toronto, if you would like to join us or Flash Mob this, just drop a comment here.
Then on Friday, I hop another plane to Boston for PodCamp Boston. There are well over one thousand people registered for this Social Media Unconference, and the list of people I can’t wait to meet, reconnect with and Podcast with is simply too long to list. If you head over to the PodCamp Boston Blog, you can see the schedule and, considering that this conference is free, it’s a mind blower. Too many great sessions at the same time… when was the last time you went to a paid conference and had that as an issue?
I may even be taking part in the recording of an upcoming episode of the Marketing Over Coffee Podcast with John Wall and Christopher S. Penn.
I’ll be kicking off PodCamp Boston with my keynote presentation on Personal Branding, and then later in the day C.C. Chapman (Managing The Gray and Accident Hash) and I will be co-presenting a session called, Tools Of The Trade, where we’ll walk through the many Social Media websites, apps and tools we use to stay engaged and on top of things.
I’ve been looking forward to this week for a long time. Expect tons of Blog postings and even more audio for upcoming episodes of Six Pixels of Separation – The Twist Image Podcast.
If you are attending the CMA’s Digital Marketing Conference or PodCamp Boston (or both), please make sure to come over and say "hi."
Looking forward to meeting you in person at PodCamp Mitch!
May? Dude, you are on the list.
Dinner Thursday sounds like a great idea… but why don’t you two gate-crash the Young PR meetup instead (http://studentpr.com/blog)? Don’t make me choose between the two!
Mitch, count me in for dinner on Thursday.
Looking forward to Boston! See you there.
Did someone say personal branding ; )
Hi Mitch, not gonna make the CMA or Podcamp (tear) but would LOVE to join you guys for dinner on Thursday. Please drop me a line!
I’ll be there at the CMA DMC and I’d like to join you for the dinner as well. Cheers!

Geek Dinner update:
Nothing official. Let’s just meet up after the cocktail reception and grab a bite somewhere casual.
If you are not attending the CMA Digital Marketing Conference, and would like to meet up, please email me or call my mobile.
I’ll be at the Digital Marketing Conference and am looking forward to seeing you and Michael again!
Count me in for a ‘nonGeek-Geek’ dinner and yes you can use my epi-pen on me should push come to shove!!!
Podcamp Boston 2
I had a great time today at Podcamp Boston 2, a new media expo at the Boston Convention Center full of podcasters, bloggers, and other new media folks. There was so much energy in the room – with everyone taking
