It was just one of those days (as in great days). I had a morning presentation for a crowd of about two thousand people at The Power Within event in London, Ontario and then had a car drop me off in downtown Toronto for a special dinner with Shel Holtz – co-host of the Podcast, For Immediate Release: The Hobson & Holtz Report.
Shel is in Toronto for an AIMS – Association of Internet Marketing and Sales – event called, “How Social Media is Changing Everything You Know……and what you should be doing about it.” Unfortunately, I could not stick around for his presentation tomorrow, but since I was so close, I could not resist the chance to have dinner with Holtz and the Toronto Digerati.
It was a great evening, and even though I am writing this at 30,000 feet somewhere between Toronto and Montreal and my eyes are glazing over as we approach midnight, my exhaustion is secondary to the great conversations that blended everything from Blogs to jam bands (how did you know I was thinking about Gov’t Mule?) to Podcasting to current events.
It was also a pleasure to finally meet David Jones in person. Jones is co-host of the Podcast, Inside PR, with Terry Fallis.
I’ve had the pleasure of co-hosting both For Immediate Release and Inside PR with Holtz and Jones, and tonight was the first time we had met in person. Much like my encounter with C.C. Chapman (Managing The Gray and Accident Hash) over at PodCamp Boston or meeting Terry Fallis at the Geek Dinner Toronto, it certainly did not feel like the first time we had met.
Another testament to the truth and power behind the notion of Six Pixels Of Separation.
Update: Shel posted a great photo of the gang over here: Geeking Out In Toronto (those are some happy geeks).
