This is no April Fool’s joke. Both Joseph Jaffe (author of Life After The 30-Second Spot and Join The Conversation, plus Blogger and Podcaster over at Jaffe Juice) and I will be speaking at the ACA – Association of Canadian Advertisers event, which takes place in Toronto on Thursday, April 17th, 2008. Both Jaffe and I have had many requests for us to speak together over the years and, in fact, we have done so (about two years ago, we both gave keynote addresses at the CMA – Canadian Marketing Association – Digital Marketing Conference in Toronto), but this time is a little different.
So, the big question will be: who will use the Time Magazine Person of the Year cover from 2006 or the Coke Grand Theft Auto viral video/commercial from YouTube in our slides?
All kidding aside, it’s going to be a pretty amazing event. Besides Jaffe and myself, the ACA has hooked up a full-day program called, Continuing The Conversation, which also features Peter Kim, Senior Analyst with Forrester Research, Hunter Madsen, Marketing Director of Yahoo! Canada, Bryan Segal, Vice President of Canada, comScore Media Metrix, Shawn Bailey, Creative Head of Multiplatform, Arts and Entertainment, CBC, and others.
My topic is Six Pixels Of Separation – How Advertising Connects In A Digital World. You can view the full schedule here: ACA – Continuing The Conversation – Conference Program.
I’m not sure that there will be time for a Geek Dinner Toronto the night before the event, but who knows, maybe Jaffe and I would be up to meeting a few for a nightcap.
That all being said, rest assured, I’ll have the M-Audio MicroTrack on hand to capture some audio for an upcoming episode of Six Pixels of Separation – The Twist Image Podcast.
