Regardless, here is also a new episode of Media Hacks (it’s #19). It’s actually just a very personal conversation with Julien Smith (In Over Your Head and Trust Agents) about community, business, communication, business books and how to own your platform(s). What you and Julien had to say about the haters reminded me of a societal phenomenon we have here in Australia called ‘Tall Poppy Syndrome’ where those with talent and achievement are criticised instead of celebrated.
It’s a trait that hinders more than helps, and only serves to hold most people back from reaching their full potential for fear of becoming a victim it.
