PodCamp Boston Here I Come

PodCamp Boston is taking place this coming week. The dates are September 9th -10th at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston. Bryan Person from New Comm Road and the Blog, Bryper, has been promoting it for the past while. This past Saturday night Bryan and I were chatting on Skype, and I thought to myself, “oh, screw it, let’s go to Boston for PodCamp.”
What is PodCamp?
Much like BarCamp, DemoCamp and CaseCamp, PodCamp is a un-conference, as the wiki says:
“PodCamp is a neologism coined by Chris Penn as a distinction from BarCamp.
PodCamp is a BarCamp-style meet-up for podcasters and listeners, bloggers and readers, and new media types of all stripes.”
PodCamp is wiki powered and it is self organizing. Individuals sign up to register, present, trade, etc…
I’ll be hitting the road on Friday afternoon and C.C. Chapman of Managing The Gray, Accident Hash and U-Turn Café has already asked if I would like to present with him on the topic of building a personal brand and marketing yourself through Podcasting (two topics that I hold near and dear to my heart). C.C. could have asked me to speak about acoustic laser temperaments in Podcasting for Bulgarians and I would have thrown my hat in the ring for the mere opportunity of co-speaking alongside the Podcasting legend.
What’s most impressive about PodCamp Boston is the near 250 people that have self-registered through the wiki (and that number seems to growing by the hour).
Emails have already been sent out to Bryan Person, C.C. Chapman and John Wall of The M Show to record a Mega Mash-Up show… let’s see how that rolls. Who knows, maybe we can even get Amanda Congdon (ex-Rocketboom) to take part?
Gear that will be making the trip with me:
Sony Vaio.
Logitech Premium USB Headset 350.
Panasonic Portable Voice Recorder RR-QR170.
iPod Nano 4 gig.
CastBlaster.
Audacity.
If you are going to be at PodCamp Boston and would like to meet up, please drop me a line.
