Every Monday morning at 7:10 am, I am on air at CHOM 97.7 FM radio out of Montreal (home base). It’s not a long segment – about 10 minutes every week – to decode the future. We discuss everything that is happening in the world of technology, digital media and culture. The good folks at CHOM 97.7 FM are posting these segments weekly on i Heart Radio, if you’re interested in hearing more about what’s happening in the transformation of our digital world. I’m really excited about these weekly hits, because this is the radio station that I grew up listening to, and it really is a fun treat to be invited to the Mornings Rock with Terry DiMonte morning show. The segment is called, CTRL ALT Delete with Mitch Joel.
This week we discussed:
- Tesla‘s stock is through the roof. Apple says that they will develop a self-driving car. Mashable is now saying this: Drive-in everything: How Covid Made Car Culture Cool Again. Do you believe this is only because of the circumstances of our global pandemic? Or, are cars going to (very shortly) become another “room” in our lives?
- Terry and I have both posted about the amazing Fran Lebowitz, and her new Netflix series/documentary/interview/public speaking series called, Pretend It’s A City, which she produced and stars in with famed movie maker, Martin Scorsese. To me, it’s a testament to “new content.” I’m not sure that a show like this could have ever been something, if we didn’t have this massive shift to digital and content consumption on digital platforms.
- App of the Week: Slow TV Map – take a relaxing virtual trip.
