If you had to distil everything you knew about business into one book, what would it look like?
If you’re Alan Webber, it becomes an even more interesting task. As someone who was part of the Harvard Business Review and helped to create and shape Fast Company Magazine, Webber did more than grow multiple successful companies, he was also privy to reporting about how some of the most ground-breaking companies of our time did it as well. Beyond hobnobbing with many leaders of industry, Webber was able to peel back the onion to see what really makes some of the best in business built to last. All of that comes together in his recently released business book, Rules of Thumb – 52 Truths for Winning at Business Without Losing Your Self. Webber recently gave a talk at Google, and it’s well-worth watching (side note: I love his conversational and friendly style of presenting):
