Wow – one night and two days up at The Gault Nature Reserve – on Mont St. Hilaire (just 32 km from Montreal. We stayed at this amazing mansion on a land that “protects the largest remaining remnant of the primeval forests of the St. Lawrence River Valley. It is recognized nationally and internationally for its scientific and patrimonial significance. The mountain and its surroundings comprise the first site in Canada to be designated as a Biosphere Reserve under the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Program,” according to their website http://www.mcgill.ca/gault/. Gault left the land to McGill University in his will and YES Montreal (Youth Employment Services) held its Board of Directors meeting there. I was inducted on to the Board and it was an incredible two day marathon of meetings.
If you’re ever near Mont St. Hilaire you must see this land – what beauty!
